BCL2L1
BCL2L1 anti-apoptotic — the molecular target that 1 compounds in the wiki act on.
In one line: A "survival" protein that zombie cells hide behind — senolytics strip it away.
BCL2L1 is one of the proteins that keep cells alive by blocking self-destruction. Worn-out "zombie" (senescent) cells over-rely on it to avoid dying — so they linger and leak inflammation. Senolytic compounds like fisetin and quercetin work partly by blocking this survival shield, so the zombie cells finally self-destruct and get cleared. That's why senolytics are pulsed a couple of days at a time rather than taken daily.
